The Flemish Mining Museum tells visitors the story of miners and mining. A tour of the museum starts with an atmospheric introductory film, followed by a visit to the rest of the museum accompanied by an enthusiastic guide.

A reconstructed pillar gives a good picture of the underground workings.

A model with sound and light effects shows the working of the surface installations. The visitors centre, in one of the four "lift-buildings" contains an exhibition about the past and present of the mining region.
