Flax is an industrial plant offering optimal added value: each part is made economically viable and transformed into a range of finished products.  This multi-faceted plant has been prepared since the 15th century in the region and has guaranteed the prosperity of Kortrijk and the Lys Valley.  The Flax Museum recounts the history of flax and the people who processed it.  It bears witness to their toils, their ingenuity and the commercial skills. The museum also has a beautiful collection of linen, lace and damask.
